How to claim Employment Expenses?

Note: You need to have a T2200 certificate from your employer to qualify for the claim.

Tip: There is a button on form T777 page for "Tradesperson's tools expenses". There is another button for claim of "Apprentice mechanic tools expenses". The software calculates the claims based on your costs and earned income. For more information, refer to tax guide here.

If you are in Simple View:

Click on "Interview setup" ==> check "Employment expenses" on the right ==> click Next at the bottom ==> click on "Employment expenses" on the left.

If you are in expert view:

Click on "Employment expenses" under "Expenses & Deductions" on the left.
